The annual Ride Against Domestic Violence is a 260km charity bike ride from Busselton in Western Australia’s South-West to Perth that is held over two days.
The purposes of the Ride are:
- To raise funds for refuges in Western Australia for women and their children experiencing family and domestic violence, and
- To raise awareness in the community of the nature and scale of family and domestic violence and promote consideration of what changes we as community members can make to combat this scourge.
At stops along the route, the local Member of Parliament, a client of a local domestic violence refuge and a rider will engage and inform members of the public on domestic violence issues.
The Ride Against Domestic Violence draws riders from a wide cross-section of Western Australian society who share the desire to combat family and domestic violence. The peloton for the 2021 Ride will be comprised of a team of Members of Parliament, company/industry teams, a community team, union teams and professions teams.
